Terms of Use

1. The service

Mentoskop is a tool for exploring and working with the structure of Google Sheets spreadsheets through an alternative visual representation.

Mentoskop is currently provided free of charge.

Mentoskop is experimental software under active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed over time.

The service may occasionally be unavailable or interrupted. Mentoskop may also discontinue the service. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of material changes or discontinuation.

Mentoskop is not intended for production-critical use.

2. Your spreadsheets

You choose which Google Sheets spreadsheets to use with Mentoskop.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to access and modify any spreadsheet you use with the service.

Some Mentoskop features can modify a selected spreadsheet, including by creating or updating Mentoskop data, worksheets, named ranges, or formulas.

You are responsible for reviewing important changes made to your spreadsheets and for maintaining appropriate copies or backups of your data.

Mentoskop does not claim ownership of your spreadsheets or their contents.

3. Your account and acceptable use

You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for maintaining the security of your Google account and other credentials used to access Mentoskop.

You must not:

• attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account, data, or systems;
• interfere with or disrupt Mentoskop or infrastructure used to provide the service;
• attempt to circumvent security or access controls;
• use Mentoskop to introduce malicious code or otherwise harm the service or other users; or
• use Mentoskop in violation of applicable law.

4. Accuracy and reliance

Mentoskop analyzes and represents spreadsheet structures programmatically.

Representations, dependencies, formulas, ranges, and other information displayed or generated by Mentoskop may be incomplete, inaccurate, or affected by spreadsheet features that Mentoskop does not fully support.

You should review important results and spreadsheet changes before relying on them.

Mentoskop is a spreadsheet visualization and analysis tool. It does not provide financial, accounting, legal, tax, or other professional advice.

5. Intellectual property

Mentoskop and its software, interface, branding, and other service materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of Mentoskop or its intellectual property to you.

Your spreadsheets and their contents remain yours or those of their respective owners.

You retain any rights you have in content that you use with Mentoskop.

6. Third-party services

Mentoskop works with third-party services, including Google services.

Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and policies.

Mentoskop is not responsible for the availability or operation of third-party services outside its reasonable control.

7. Availability and warranties

Mentoskop is experimental software and may contain errors or limitations.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not promise that Mentoskop will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every spreadsheet, feature, browser, device, or use case.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, right, remedy, or other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Mentoskop is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these Terms or that result from circumstances outside Mentoskop's reasonable control.

You are responsible for reviewing important spreadsheet changes and maintaining appropriate copies or backups of your data.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including any liability or consumer rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

9. Suspension and termination

Mentoskop may suspend or terminate access to the service where reasonably necessary to:

• protect Mentoskop, its users, or third parties;
• address misuse, fraud, or security risks;
• enforce these Terms; or
• comply with legal obligations.

Where reasonably practicable, Mentoskop will provide notice before suspending or terminating access, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary for security, legal, or abuse-prevention reasons.

You may stop using Mentoskop at any time.

You may request deletion of your Mentoskop account as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Privacy

Mentoskop's handling of personal data and Google user data is described in the Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy also explains how to request deletion of your Mentoskop account and associated personal data.

11. Changes to the service and future paid features

Mentoskop is currently provided free of charge.

We may introduce new features or change how the service is offered in the future, including by introducing optional paid features or plans.

We will not charge you without clearly informing you of the applicable price and obtaining any agreement or authorization required by applicable law.

Any paid features may be subject to additional or updated terms presented before you purchase or subscribe to them.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Mentoskop, legal or regulatory requirements, security needs, or other reasonable operational changes.

If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will take reasonable steps to notify you before the change takes effect where required by applicable law.

The “Last updated” date at the top of these Terms indicates when they were most recently revised.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark.

If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of any mandatory protections provided by the laws that would otherwise apply to you.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law concerning where a dispute may be brought.
